Butternut Snaps


A lovely Aussie bikkie treat, quite similar to the ANZAC biscuit, but without the oats.

What you need…

  • 2 tablespoons of butter- softened
  • 1 cup of Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Golden Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon bi-carn soda
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 3/4 a cup coconut
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
How you do it…
  • Pre heat the oven to 180 C
  • In a large mixing bowl cream together the butter and sugar using a wooden spoon.
  • Add the egg, vanilla and golden syrup and continue to cream them.
  • Once well mixed, add the cream of tartar, bi carb, flour and coconut, mix together 
  • Add in the milk and give one good last mix
  • Roll into balls (size to your choosing, how big do you want your bikkies???) and place on a lined baking tray.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
