What you need...
- 185 grams of softened butter
- 1/3 a cup of icing sugar
- a teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 cup of plain flour
- 1/3 cup od custard powder.
- preheat you oven to 180 degrees.
- Cream the butter sugar and vanilla together using an electric beater until the mixture is pale and fluffy
- Sift in the flour and custard powder, and using a wooden spoon stir it through to form a soft dough.
- Usually at this point I pop the dough into a piping bag with a 1.5cm star nozzle and pipe out some star shapes, but seeing as I have a 16 week Klingon baby today I have opted to just use my one free hand and roll some balls and flatten them out a touch. You can also add some sugar decorations now or like we did today, cover some in hundreds and thousands.
- After you have shaped or piped the your dough onto a greased or baking paper lined baking tray pop them into the fridge to firm up for 20 mins.
- Bake for about 12 mins until golden brown.
- Cool and Eat!!!
Happy baking
